About
El Pollo Gigante Comalcalco stands out as a vibrant culinary gem nestled in the heart of Comalcalco, Tabasco. Located on Bougambilia 117, this restaurant invites guests to experience the authentic flavors of Tabasco through a diverse and freshly prepared menu. From the moment you step in, you are greeted with warm hospitality and attentive service that enhances the dining experience.
The highlight here is undoubtedly their rotisserie chicken, slow-cooked over coal to achieve that perfect balance of smoky aroma and tender juiciness. This traditional method infuses the meat with deep, rich flavors that resonate with the local palate. Paired with classic accompaniments like their homemade mole and the unforgettable roasted bananas dessert, the meal becomes a journey into Tabasco’s culinary traditions.
Their breakfast buffet is another strong draw, offering a wide variety of dishes that showcase regional specialties. Every bite reflects the freshness and authenticity that local food lovers crave. The affordability of this buffet ensures you get excellent value without compromising on quality. While some guests note occasional delays in service—likely due to high demand driven by the restaurant’s popularity—the overall atmosphere remains welcoming and pleasant.
Customer praise often highlights the attentive and friendly staff, especially servers like Rebeca, who contribute to a memorable dining environment. Whether visiting with family or friends, El Pollo Gigante Comalcalco offers a place where good food and genuine service come together seamlessly. “ The breakfast buffet has an amazing variety, and if you want to taste real food from Tabasco, this is the place. Everything was freshly made, and you can really taste the authenticity in every dish. The price is extremely affordable for the quality and selection you get. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed, and the staff was incredibly attentive — the waiters kept checking in to make sure everything was perfect. They offer a great selection of drinks, including coffee, jamaica, and horchata. I tried the plantains, platanito frito, cecina, flautitas, tostadas, tamalitos, and eggs prepared in different styles. My absolute favorite was huevos con longaniza — full of flavor and perfectly cooked. The empanaditas de queso con azúcar took me straight back to my grandma’s kitchen — pure comfort and nostalgia. The place is not fancy, but it is very clean, welcoming, and comfortable. It’s great for families, but honestly for anyone who appreciates good food. It feels like a local spot, but any tourist would truly appreciate the variety and authentic flavors. It was my first time visiting, and I will definitely be coming back — and bringing my family with me. ”
“ Is not he best place but food is ok. They did take longer than expected to bring out the food though. ”
“ Bang for the buck factor. And it tastes pretty dang good too. ”
